A word from our parents
We were very lucky to have chosen HAIS for our two girls five years ago; it was the perfect match for them. The oldest was in Year 3 and the youngest in kindergarten, and they are now about to start Year 8 and Year 5! HAIS has dedicated and professional teachers and teacher assistants who not only share their knowledge but also care for the wellbeing of the children. The rest of the leadership team and staff are always looking out for them. The girls are doing very well academically and participating in the various programs that the school offers. They especially enjoy swimming, art, drama, music, and field trips. They are both shy and reserved, but their personalities are well respected, and we’ve seen them grow and thrive so much. They are making wonderful memories at the school and with their friends, which is the most valuable aspect of being part of the HAIS community.

Anna has been at HAIS for 3 years now. Watching her grow and develop over this time has been truly amazing. She has made significant progress in both English and Vietnamese language skills, and it’s been wonderful to see her overall development as a person. HAIS offers a unique educational setup with both Vietnamese and Western educators, providing Anna with a balanced and diverse exposure to different cultures and learning approaches. It’s been incredible to witness this blend in her education. Anna also benefits from numerous outdoor learning experiences and excursions off-campus, which I find very enriching. She has made many good friends, which is crucial at this stage, and there’s a strong sense of community at the school as well.

Being part of the HAIS Early Years programme has been an absolute joy for our family, mostly because of the really caring approach that the teachers have towards the children. We have observed significant growth in our kids' fundamental skills, including literacy, numeracy, and cultural understanding. The diverse backgrounds and family dynamics of the children at HAIS have positively impacted our kids, enhancing their confidence in social interactions. In terms of the physical development, I'm really satisfied with the growth I've seen in terms of their ability to participate in sports. There are really fun and engaging competitions, such as the house competitions they have every Friday, and also sports like swimming which they absolutely love. Would I recommend the HAIS Early Years programme to other parents? Absolutely yes. HAIS is a very warm, colourful and inviting school with such a special community spirit that we just love sending our kids here every day.
My daughter, Dâu Tây, has been studying at HAIS since she was 18 months old and is now in Year 1. At first, I was very concerned about the 15-kilometer distance from home to school, especially during rainy and windy weather. However, once she settled in, she began to truly enjoy her time at HAIS, and we decided to continue her education here. Research shows that the early years, from 0 to 5, are crucial for brain development and lay the foundation for a child’s future. At HAIS, I truly appreciate the open environment, the dedicated teachers, and the opportunities for children to explore their surroundings. Most importantly, my daughter is excited and happy to go to school each day.

FAQs
What is the difference between the International Programme and the Bilingual Programme?
+The International Programme follows the UK’s Cambridge International Education Curriculum, an internationally recognized standard in both primary and secondary education. In the International Programme, children are instructed in English by native English speaking, highly experienced and qualified international teachers.
The Bilingual Programme follows a modified version of the Vietnamese National Curriculum (MOET) with the benefit of receiving half of the learning in English by native English speaking, highly experienced and qualified international teachers. In addition, bilingual students are combined and interacting with international students for all single subjects.
Will my child need to take an entrance exam to register at HAIS?
+HAIS requires a formal Admissions Assessment for students enrolling in Primary School or higher.
Students in Primary and Lower Secondary School are assessed through an online, adaptive programme from the Cambridge Centre for Evaluation and Monitoring (CEM).
Students joining Billingual Primary will also be assessed for Vietnamese language and mathematics skills.
IGCSE and potential A Level students will undergo formal assessment in English, Mathematics and Science.
All students will also join an interview with either a Vice Principal or the Learning Enhancement Coordinator.
These assessments allow HAIS to gain a full understanding of the student and discuss and provide any additional support they may need.
Will HAIS provide a bus service?
+Yes, the school is able to provide transportation to students, on a first come, first serve basis, to and from the Hoi An and Da Nang area, at an additional cost, paid with tuition per the payment schedule. Participating students will be picked up/dropped off at designated bus stops.
Does the HAIS canteen accommodate any special dietary needs?
+Yes. The HAIS canteen is happy to prepare gluten-free, vegetarian/vegan meals and accommodate any other dietary choices or restrictions. Parents are required to advise if their child(ren) have any allergies or dietary requirements at the time of enrolment.
How do I make payments?
+Payments can be made via online, bank transfer, or cash payment directly at our school. Further information can be found on our fees page, or email finance@hais.edu.vn for further consultation.
